the dripping shield

"I am an interventionist. If you've got an army you may as well use it." Ken Livingstone.

It was the Summer Dinner and the postman and I were offered free places because the ticket holders were indisposed. So there I was, half way through the most delicious salmon when Ken Livingstone finished his dinner and started declaiming to the assembled multitude.

What he said when someone asked what he thought about the goings on in Iraq was such a surprise chaps that I nearly fell off my chair. "I am an interventionist. If you've got an army you may as well use it." I stopped taking notes I was so shocked. Then he began to joke about other places where we might intervene on the grounds of not liking local customs, like Saudi Arabia.

I was arrested by stillness in attempting to drop my notes in the middle of the table and let go of the responsibility of interpretation and communication.

How to Report War Criminals

Who do you serve?

Israel Denies Using Depleted Uranium Weapons in Gaza but the first newborn babies with abnormalities typical of depleted uranium are now arriving in Gaza, as in Afghanistan and Iraq.

If they are so serious about climate change and global warming why are they not interested in the worldwide contamination by weapons containing uranium components. Millions of nanoparticles are floating around our atmosphere and yet they do not appear to show any interest in this aspect of contamination or pollution. Is there any logic in imposing severe restrictions and high stealth taxes hidden under the name of Global Warming if our Global Atmosphere becomes so polluted from these weapons that our respective eco systems collapse?
